Reference strategy

It’s a widespread, strategic policy for many companies not to provide references. This policy is primarily motivated by the desire to avoid legal risks, but also to protect their existing clients. Potential clients may ask your company for references from current or previous clients. They may not understand your expertise or be able to define their own goals. Say no, give your potential clients the assurance they’re looking for yourself, this can be in the form of documents or a reference from the Chamber of Commerce. Be okay with potential clients walking away if you don’t give them a client as reference.

Coordination strategy

When a potential investor expresses interest. Typically, the investor presents a first term sheet, and negotiates the final transaction terms, structure, investment amounts, and maybe warranties, as described and agreed in the memorandum. A solicitor draft the necessary legal documentation to close the transaction.
